How many lives do dogs have?
If cats have 9 lives, how many does a dog have? Because, Ruckus has used one of his. We were in front of the house and Dan was racing his remote control car and having Ruckus chase it and having the car chase Ruckus. Sure enough, a car, (imagine that... a car.. on the street.. in front of our house) came by. Ruckus was down the street, too far to have him chase the remote car back to us in time. As he came towards us, the car came towards him, on the perfect path to squish him under the tires (according to my calculations) right in front of all the kids. As I was screaming and Dan was in the street trying to get the old man driving to stop, the driver hesitated and slowed enough for Ruckus to hit the edge of the front bumper.. tossing his hind leg up but essentially pushing him out of the way of the tire. Ruckus then continued running up the street to us and the car continued down the street. I think he is a little sore on his hind hip but luckily he is ok!

Is this a cry for help?

So, I'm getting the girls out of the bath and picking up their room and I hear the dull beat of Polka Music downstairs. I go down and see this! Dan wearing my Neuschwanstein Apron with a bowl on his head, a spatula and giant bag of chocolate chips in his hands. Evidently he was really happy to make cookies tonight... and thought it would be fun to listen to polka music while cooking???? I hear yodeling...

You Pothole!
We were plagued with a pothole that just kept getting bigger in the middle of the street. Then we were plagued by our neighbor who we refer to as the "60 yr old nudist" incessently talking about it every time she spotted us getting in and out of our cars. So, to avoid any further conversation, and after 4 neighbors had called to complain and failed.... Dan took matters into his own hands and tracked the "City Pothole Guy" and convinced him to come out and fix it, even though we weren't scheduled for re-surfacing for another 2 years. At 7:30 this morning, there were 5 tractors and numerous trucks and trailers all to fix this little pothole. (I think Dan was on a mini-power-trip for the good part of the morning.) Someone made some tax money today! Needless to say, the foreman was very good looking and I didn't mind watching the repairs either.
In fact I followed him down to the beach and shot this picture of him too. WAIT... not sure thats the same guy. OH MY HEAVENS!

Check out my Zuchinni!

This giant Zuchinni was screaming "EAT ME! EAT ME! as I watered yesterday. So, as the first pickings from the garden this season... He was fried up with some onions and bell peppers. Mmmmm. To give you true scale of how big he was look at the canisters and knife. (Thats no paring knife.) He has a friend out in the garden almost the same size. I think we will eat him sunday.
