6th Beach Bonfire

As part of the 6th Grade committee, we decided to plan some activities for the kids to help make their last year of elementary school memorable. We planned ice skating, bowling, movie night, and a beach bonfire. Friday was the bonfire. It was alot of fun for the kids and us "supervising" adults.  Hotdog dinner was served and the kids played volleyball, limbo and football.
Some of us took romantic strolls along the beach at sunset.

The kids sang songs around the bonfire and roasted marshmallows for s'mores.
I like this picture of Dan & I, and especially like the backdrop. If only it was taken from the other direction.. you would see the gorgeous ocean.

Rammstein Concert

We saw Rammstein last year and thought they were done touring, so when we heard they were coming back we were super excited.  We were lucky enough to get some last minute Club Level Rammstein tickets for the concert on Thursday. Our tickets last year were in the sky! The concert was awesome! We could see everything, and at the very end I got 4 rows back from the lead guitarist and made eye contact TWICE! My "Concert Whore" outfit worked! ( That and I was the only person standing in that row...because they didnt sell the seats there.)

Lead Guitarist Richard Kruspe- Pretty much what I looked at all night!

US Olympic Volleyball Scrimmage

Last night I took the girls to a volleyball scrimmage played by the US 2012 Olympic Team. When compared to the girl's volleyball team (of which I am the coach) there was not one similarity except the court size. I couldn't believe how fast and tall these girls were!  I have no idea how tall this girl is, but I am 5'4" so she has to be darn near 7'.

Throughout the game, little volleyballs were thrown in the crowd. So after the game the girls went up to get autographs.

Pete Carroll (Seattle Seahawks Coach) was in the crowd, just down from us. ( I didn't know who he was but all of the men did.)

Emily's Braces

Emily doesn't take a keen interest in much, other than art projects and boys... but when it came time to get her braces... her level of understanding baffled me. After she interviewed 4 orthodontists and explained every procedure (in the same detail it was told to her) to her Dad... She decided that Dr. Carter was the best Ortho for her.  So after waiting for almost a year, she was soooo excited to have them put on today. I am thinking maybe she will be a dentist... She does'nt mind when pain is inflicted on others.( When we ask her if we should punish one of the other children... she always says "yes"...with a justified face.) And she seems to have a pretty good understanding of teeth. Time will tell.....Hey, just maybe she can combine her 3 interests together and put artistic braces on boys. ??

Ashley's 12th Birthday

Ashley celebrated her 12th Birthday with a slumber party. She had boys ding-dong-ditching all night. Once the girls caught the boys they all TPing. In the morning Dan took everyone to Krispy Kreme and to the park. Not much slumbering was done but it was a fun time.

Reed's Truly Exhausted

We were shocked the other day when we found out Reed has not kicked his habit of falling asleep while eating his dinner. We put Ruckus in the background just for fun!

Ruckus's Birthday Party

Dan & I have been together over 20 years..... And we have had children for over 15 years... Not once has Dan planned a party for either me or the kids. But this year he decided to plan a party for Ruckus. He invited all of Ruckus's friends he plays with. Planned games and threw Ruckus a Dog Party... complete with goodie bags!

There was a slight moment of awkwardness when Dan began to sing "Happy Birthday" but we all joined in and by the end of the song it was just like any other party.
For those of you who know Ruckus well, you know he is a social drinker. We had set out little water bowls for the "guests" and Ruckus proceeded to drink the water out of all 5 dog bowls we had out.
He played tug-of-war with his cousin.
Sammy.( Can be bribed with anything.)
Max. (The winner of all games and contests)
Winston (lets just say Ruckus has a special place in his heart for Winston)
