Disneyland has a new perk this year... if you give a day of your time to charity... you get a free day at the park. So...we signed up and on Saturday we held a lemonade stand in front of Petsmart to benefit the Pet Rescue Center. All money we raised would be donated to the center. I got up early, made lemonade and cocoa and brought some cookies that we could sell. We set up at 11:00 and the kids started waving signs.... people came and went...not many wanted lemonade. A few wanted a cookie.... and none wanted cocoa. ( I made 3 gallons). At the end of the day we made a grand total of $26. I spent $35 on supplies.
I gave the rescue center lady the $26 and went home. A few things that day bothered me. The rescue center was there trying to raise money to cover a surgery for a dog that had been hit by a car. The owners didn't want to pay $4000 to have the dog repaired so they walked away and the rescue center funded the money and will adopt the dog out when it is healed. The dog was the ugliest pit-bull I have ever seen. Her eyes were "a-skew" like someone had poked them and her ears were cut off. I had to ask myself more than a few times over the course of 4 hours, looking at this dog, "Why??" The rescue center could feed/neuter so many dogs for $4000. And pit-bulls are notoriously agressive.....???? Just to add insult to injury, when I gave the extremely hard earned $26 to the rescue center lady... she put it in the jar to go towards the medical bills of the pit-bull.

I hate those dogs. Someone needs to volunteer to walk him then "accidentally" let him off his leash near a busy road. That ought to finish him off! It's all for the greater good and you might even get another Disneyland ticket out of it!
that is sooo cool!
